Our journey began in 2015
Our roots date back to 2015 when we started serving chocolate in a 350 square foot shop in historic Sausalito, California; just outside of San Francisco and across from the Golden Gate Bridge.
This remains our only retail location in the world where we serve tens of thousands of visitors each year.
In 2017, 2018 and 2019 we were honored to be voted the best Chocolatier by the readers of Pacific Sun, the 2nd oldest alternative newsweekly on the planet.
We’re just getting started
In 2019 we changed the name of the company to Coa Chocolate. This change was made to reflect the quality of chocolates we serve and the values of the company.
The name “Coa” is a play on the word “Koa” that means “to be strong” in Hawaiian and “to be happy” in Maori – the native language of New Zealand.
